OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - British Columbia Premier John Horgan appeared with Washington Gov. Jay Inslee in the Capitol as part of a visit to the state, even as weather forced the cancellation of other events planned by the pair.

Addressing reporters in Olympia Friday, they emphasized climate change and green economic development initiatives, which they described as a focus of the premier's visit.

But a planned address to the Legislature by Horgan was cancelled, with officials citing concerns over a forecast snowstorm in the region.

The appearance followed a Thursday visit to Seattle, where Horgan committed $226,000 for a study of a high-speed rail link between Washington and British Columbia, doubling an equal commitment he made in 2018.
