Looking for the right place to host your Seattle outdoor wedding? Here are five suggestions for places to exchange your vows in an outside setting.
Golden Gardens Park: A highly popular site, particularly in nice weather, this park also has some parking limitations. Nonetheless the sunset over the sound experience that it offers along with the sandy beach and series of tide pools make it a perpetual favorite. Call (206) 684-4081 for event planning.
Woodland Park Zoo: The Woodland Park Zoo is long accustomed to working with wedding parties as well as picnics and birthday parties. It has almost a dozen locations for renting, ranging from the Northern Trail Tundra Building's 45 seats to larger venues such as the Thai Village (100 seats), the Family Farm (200 seats), or even the North Meadow's span, capable of holding up to 3,500 people. Call 206.548.2590 for event planning.
Marymoor's Clise Mansion: On Seattle's East Side in Redmond, Marymoor Park holds historic Clise Mansion, with spacious lawns in front as well as an open garden in the back. Here the vista looks out over rolling lawns and the windmill left from the property's days as Willowmoor Farm. Call (425) 865-0795 for event planning.
The Washington Park Arboretum: Nestled in the body of Seattle's bustle is a green, serene, spacious, tree-filled park that holds one of the city's most beautiful sites, the Seattle Japanese Garden. Unfortunately the Japanese Garden isn't available for events, but weddings can be scheduled nearby under other specimens of the arboretum's many trees. Call (206) 684-4081 for event planning.
A Boat: One of Seattle's main attractions is its skyline as seen from the water, glass-clad towers sparkling in the sun and the Space Needle's skinny spire towering skyward. Many brides and grooms host their weddings in this way, on decks ranging from speedboat-tiny to cruise vessels.
Seattle has much to offer in the way of outdoor weddings, and these five sites are great examples of the variety available.
