Chief Leschi Schools Reviews

My children are in elementary, classes are small and they love it. I'm disappointed that they concentrate only in 3 areas, 3 R's. There's no history, sciences or arts. The teachers seem to love their job. I think the culture could be more than just music and art, what about our cultural history and figures, how far we as a people have come... are where we could go. We can't leave teaching our culture up to the school. many Natives I know don't participate in powwows and thats what school concentrates on. High school offers babysitting, to help them graduate. There's also program to promote parent involvement, which there is few of, but good incentive program, hopefully it works.

I like this school because the children get to stay connected to a Native culture which did help with transfer issues coming from a rural reservation to the city. The elementary is incredible! Really good, devoted teachers. Everyone cares about the students, from the teachers, administration, bus drivers, to Offider Gerkin. That is hard to find in any school. Yes it's harder when the student gets to high school, but the school doesn't have any more issues than other schools. There are cultural issues which cause a higher drop out rate. However the school does need to work on it's SecialEd department. And the administration when pushed does help, but you as a parent have to keep on them to not lose site of your student.

cheif leschi is a great school to attend because of its cultural activites. there is many things for their students to do. they also get to learn their own culture and the culture of the schools. the art by the students is amazing. the songs at the school are incredible it makes me think that we havent yet lost our culture. becuase the future is in the students, i think.it is true that the school has gone easy on students who enter middle/high school that the teacher involvment is low. cheif leschi has a higher drop out percent then other schools. once the students enter that area of school it is easier for them to drop out of school and the school wouldnt care. they only care when they are in elementry.

I have went to Chief Leschi all my life. But last year my mom took me out. The school is beautiful, big, and always has thousands of things going on at once. The cool thing about the school is that it is small so the people in the school feel like a second family. there is probley only 700 students in the whole school. As far as I'm concerned the teachers where usually really good except until you enter middle/high school. Then they could care less. The music is pretty good. And the art is amazing. and the work ethic is good and all work is tied with culture. and the parent involvemnet is good.

Some classes are small; however, there are classes in which there aren't enough chairs for the students to sit down in.

Chief Leschi is the best thing for our kids and we love this school. The biggest class has 14 kids in it. The teachers are great.
