Shorecrest High School Reviews

I am going to be a junior at Shorecrest high school this fall. To be perfectly honest, I don't really like Shorecrest that much. Yes, the performing arts programs are amazing, but the emphasis is mostly put on the football team (which isn't even that good) and band. Other programs don't get much recognition at all. There is also a lack of classroom structure, and the rules are very slack. I can't wait to be a senior.

I am currently a freshman at Shorecrest, and I am loving it so far! The band program is very good (even though I am in Freshman Band); but I am in jazz band, and the band is coming along quite nicely. I do not partake in school clubs yet, but as I go through high school, I will partake in such activities such as the drama department. The highlight of my year was going to ireland with the marching band, choir, flags, the pipes, and the lassies/laddie. The atmosphrere of the school is wonderful, and I don't plan to attend high school anywhere else!

having 3 children go through Shorecrest High School..very disappointed overall..though we had one handful of very good teachers which earned much credit..people in charge lack tremeandously..a very 'clicky' school reflects on faculty and parents alike. Thank goodness for those dedicated and sincere teachers...that continue to hang in there against all odds because they truely care. They truely make a difference. Thank goodness our kids are out of there..do not recommend this high school. I'm sure the good teachers that we experienced will be gone soon.. much turn over..good teachers just don't stay too long.

I think shorecrest is a pretty good school. The teachers are outstanding, the music program is amazing, the extracurriculars are good. My daughter is pretty happy (as happy as a teenager can be about attending high school). Even though she is pretty 'different' in many ways, she is not harassed or bullied and has a circle of friends.

The B student that wants to go to college does not get much help at this school, only those that qualify for AP or vocational bound get the necessary help that is needed.

Shorecrest High School is overall a very good school, as are most schools in the Shoreline district. We have a variety of interesting classes, and the teachers are all dedicated to their chosen profession. It is nice to know that you are being taught by people that enjoy what they do. The one complaint I have is that the Performing Arts programs do not receive as much recognition as the sports programs, and that is very disappointing to those involved.

This school has the potential to change a lot of students lives, the rules are too lenient. not much personal attention is paid to students who really need it.

Very fun school, kinda boring at times, active, sports centered though

Shorecrest is the best High School around. Ofcourse, kids will be kids. If your son was being bullyed, it should have reported it to security/administration and something would have been done. Shorecrest is a quality school, and anyone can find something that they want to do to meet people, form friendships, learn new skills, etc.

Both of my children are Shorecrest graduates. Both have gone on to very successful college careers. The education they received at SC, including the very impressive music program, prepared them both very well for college life, college academic requirements, and the larger world. Their teachers, with just a few exceptions, were committed, well-versed in the subject matter and teaching methods, and interested in our kids and their progress. Public schools are asked -required - to be all things to all who come in the door. To accomplish that as well as offering a first class education to college-bound students is quite an accomplishment.

I am a freshman at Shorecrest High School and I am enjoying it very much. Many of my friends and I want to go to school the next day. It is not the same class day after day we have sort of the same school week as Kellogg Middle School, but the days are a little different. Shorecrest has many different opertunaties for sports, dance temas, and fine art classes. Did I mention that there is this study hall that every one has at the same time for most of the week? It is called T.A.P. (Tourtarl Activity Period) most of the students use these 20 minutes of the school to work on homework or get help on things that they didn't understand in class.

Shorecrest is a horrible school! My son attended there and had to transfer because of bullying and harassment. He wore 'different' clothes to school and people repeatly made fun of him! I have nothing but bad things to say about Shorecrest!
