Wellington Elementary School Reviews

Our kids find Wellington a great place to learn and make friends.

i am parent of two students in wellington elementry; teachers are awsome, and their pace program is working very well with my kids. students work realy hard and they are learning alot, the standerds are high and achievable. there is strong parental involment.the staff in the office are excelent ,very helpful

Experienced and caring teachers.

My son is very happy at this school. There is strong parental involvement. The principal is also very active and involved and really cares about the kids. The curriculum is strong.

Wellington has been nominated as a nationally recognized 'Blue Ribbon' school. Its Principal, Lew Dickert, is an accomplished professional. Teaching and administrative staff are all very approachable and excellent in virtually every aspect. School offers the very sought-after PACE (Parents Active in Cooperative Education) program, which utilizes active parent involvement to enrich the classroom experience for the children. Student transfer requests (limited) from other schools in the district are always maxed out, a testiment to the school's quality.

This is a great school. Most of the teachers have been there for 20+ years which shows a lot about the administration and how well the staff are treated. Some of the teachers have even been there since it opened! Another nice thing is an organization started by a family of the school called 'Partners in Education' (PIE). They finance lots of extracurricular activities including the school broadcasting program. They also bought computers for every 6th grader to have on their desk and they organize activities as well! The teachers are great too. You can tell they really care about their students.

Wellington relies heavily on parent involvement and support. They have a very active PTA organization and very experienced teachers who have been there for generations. They offer extra support in Reading via the LASER reading program and offer a full-day kindergarten program. If you have a child with advanced needs they offer a PACE program or a partnership with Bear Creek elementary for students who qualify academically.
