This school has very good WASL scores for all three grades, and the grades of the students are very high each trimester they get report cards.” Posted By: student Quality Score: 4 2008-08-28 “Tyee is a great school to put your child into. The staff are very nice and the children are also somewhat cooperative. The teachers are also great at what they do with helping the kids to understand what they are trying to learn. There are ups and downs about Tyee such as cliques but what school doesn't have them? I recently transferred schools and I realized and was amazed at how different the schools were. There was barely any fights, no pregnant teens, and a lot of the kids care more about their grades, and the school food is better than most! She has been blessed with great teachers that give her the confidence to excel. I can definitely hear a difference in her musical skills, (orchestra) considering she doesn't take private lessons, I'm impressed. The sports program is a good program for those kids ready to have fun playing a sport without intense competiveness. The 6th grade camp was indeed the highlight of her 6th grade experience. I've often asked her about bullying within the school and she hasn't had any experience or known of anyone who has. At Tyee she has found the most caring adults (both teachers and non-teaching staff) she has ever met. The students are also great-she has made friends with many of them. Tyee is as good or better than her other middle school academically.
