Explorer West Middle School Reviews

My child is exceling at this school. They know how to 'do' middle school. Challenging and supportive environment.

I have had two students at EW (one an alumni) and they are taken from a variety of elementary schools, started wherever they left off academically, and taught all they need to know to succeed in high school. The faculty are caring but have high standards, in behavior as well as academically. Every student I have talked with has been unfailingly polite and helpful. The school has always prized economic, geographical, gender, personality and racial diversity, and our family has benefited from and appreciated that.

My daughter is a 6th grader at ExpW and we have been nothing but delighted with the school. The curriculum is incredible--especially the school's use of outdoor education, but more importantly, my daughter loves it. She can't wait to get to school and is definitely upset if illness causes her to miss a day.

The academic program is very full and rich at Explorer West Middle School. Students are required to take Latin in addition to Math, History, English, Science, Art and PE. Additionally, they have a winter program that allows the students to interact in a social settings for five consecutive Fridays. I highly recommend this school.
