Dartmoor School Reviews

This school offers remedial tutoring, single class(es) for credit, and the option of graduation from Dartmoor. For tutoring help or taking needed credits outside one's regular school, it would be a good choice. It should not, however, be considered a high school option as it completely lacks the services offered by even the most basic traditonal high schools, while its structure leaves students ill-prepared for the already difficult transition to a college environemnt. To further illustrate, Dartmoor: (1) provides little curriculum guidance- students select, sign up for, and pay for (about $2000-4000/class), each class separately; (2) offers absolutely no extracurricular activities of any kind; (3) offers no classroom or laboratory experience- students attend one-hour 'sessions' that include the student, a tutor, and a computer in a cublicle; (4) offers no opportunities for social interaction between students; (5) is twice as expensive as even the most exclusive private high schools, with none of their facilities or services.
