Lakeside School Reviews

Lakeside is by far the best choice a parent can make for a child.

Amazing academics, athletics, arts, and community involvement. Especially great 7th Grade Girls soccer team!

Lakeside is an amazing school, and a perfect fit for me. This past school year was my first year at Lakeside (I transferred from a smaller private school) and I had a great first year. The academics are rigorous but not impossibly difficult, the teachers are always there when you need help, and the students are unique and so nice.

Lakeside has been great for my about-to-graduate senior. BUT - she is academically driven, self-motivated, undaunted by competition, and mostly immune to the intensity. I have seen other kids with different personality traits suffocate at Lakeside. If you know your child and know she will thrive in an academically rigorous, competitive, and sometimes stressful environment, then go for it! But if you want to send you kid to Lakeside for the sake of prestige, THINK AGAIN. It is not the environment for all kids. Senior year and the competition to get in to the best colleges is especially stressful and intense. No Senior Spring at Lakeside! The perfect school for the right kid, and it has been perfect for mine. Wouldn't even consider it for #2, though!

Lakeside is a great opportunity for the right kid, but sometimes I wonder if having my kid in a super-brain-oriented culture has pushed her ahead of her timing, and exacerbated her tendency to over-function. She is really happy there, but looking forward to not attending an Ivy League school, and feeling really on top of her game and smart!

Among the best private high schools in the United States; many grads find college less demanding. No grade inflation, in fact, just the opposite. Huge endowment, Bill Gates major contributor. Expansive athletic, extracurricular options, global service learning. No cheerleaders.

Lakeside is a really great school. I go there. When you get to the high school the work is challenging. Very challenging but its worth it in the long run. The middle school is really fun and the teachers are great. They help you succeed. And the music program is fun. The extra curricular activities are the coolest things ever i happen to play lakeside baskeball soccer volleyball and lacrosse.

Lakeside is the BEST school ever! I liked their education and the teachers and administrations respect to their students and parent-- no discrimination! Everybody is equal at this school! I really love it!

I've attended Lakeside Middle School for four years now, and it has benefited me greatly in terms of not only academics, but also social life and athletics. Before Lakeside, I was involved in the gifted program at both of my former public schools. When I transferred, I noticed an immense change on how academically rigorous particular private schools can be. I m looking forward to my years at the high school. I definitely recommend this school for all with a capable and motivated mind.

A caring school for the intellectually bright student.

My son just graduated, extremely well prepared for college, thanks to Lakeside. The school actively reaches out to and identifies amazingly gifted students of all races, religious, ethnic and economic backgrounds. The diversity of talent among students is so impressive, the enthusiasm and rigor of the faculty invigorates the students. Parents are very much a part of the community. The school leadership actively supports students in developing a sense of stewardship towards the world as a whole, and in becoming fluent with emerging issues of global importance. There is an international service orientation, programs bring in outside speakers of national (and International) importance, students go abroad in well thought out programs. Very strong athletics, arts, theater, music and extracurriculars (chess, math team, science olympiad). Students become involved in outreach service to local community. Academic level far exceeds typical high school. Roughly 1/3 of any graduating class are National Merit Scholars

This is truly one of the best schools in the Country. My son attends and he loves it. While it is still school, he says that he could not imagine going anywhere else.

Even better than we thought it would be. I've heard kids who previously hated math tell me they love 'converting hedadecimal numbers into binaries.' Parents are very involved and even though there is a heavy homework load, the students are particularly engaged and appear to love it here. Worth every penny of the exhorbitant tuition.-parent of new 6th grader.

My son had attended public schools for gifted kids and we thought he'd had a wonderful education until he went to Lakeside. There is more to Lakeside than academics and I strongly reccommend that anyone who can go there, should.

This was the best experience for my daughter. The school is very challenging acedemically. It's worth the tuition! You couldn't find a better atmosphere, prettier campus, or knowledgable teachers. I can't say enough good things about this school.
