Bishop Blanchet High School Reviews

We couldnt' be happier at Bishop Blanchet! Our daughter is currently a junior and is receiving an excellent education. Her classes and teachers have been outstanding, the administraton is very understanding of the developmental needs of teenagers and the parent community has been incredibly warm and welcoming. We appreciate the dedication and focus on christian values. Our daughter is planning to attend either Boston College, Notre Dame or Georgetown. She currently has the grades and the test scores. Blanchet has done and excellent job in preparing her for the next step - an excellent college experience. Thank you Blanchet!!

Bishop Blanchet is by far the best school Seattle has to offer! My son and daughter have received a fabulous education - learning from very knowledgable and compassionate teachers. Their high school experience was incredibly positive, stimulating and most importantly, provided them the foundation and opportunity to attend exceptional colleges. Thank you Blanchet for six wonderful years!

Really feels like a public school education, at a very expensive price. Education is certainly better for the area, but not worth it.

I am a student here and have a lot of learning disabilities. The Michael Ufer Academic Support for success program saves my life. I probably wouldnt be at blanchet if it wasnt for it. Also, I went through hard times last year and a teacher is sort of like my counselor. I can talk to her about what happened and feel like i have a support system on my side.

I am a current senior at Bishop Blanchet, and I highly recommend this school to anybody looking for a high standard in education as well as a strong, supportive community. The students at Blanchet care about each other, and it is practically impossible to be a 'loner'. Even though Blanchet is a Catholic school, I have had no trouble being lutheran and still feeling welcome. The academics at Blanchet are top-notch. Honors curriculum is available to all grades, but AP courses are typically offered only to grades 11 and 12. Regardless, it is impossible to 'slip under the radar' at Blanchet. The teachers actively engage the class, guiding students toward a higher level of understanding while reinforcing good study habits and active learning. I am actively involved in jazz band, swim team, and St. Vincent De paul society. Due to the multitude of extracurricular programs offered, it is very easy to get involved.

This school is great one not as religious as you would think but pretty much

Private school prices for a public school education.

I am a student at BBHS and I really enjoy it. The student body is supportive, as are the teachers, and I feel very comfortable there. When I was there for my first day a long time ago, I was so nervous - but everyone was so welcoming and I fit right in. We have a lot of school spirit. The school is great academically too, but grades are not what they focus on which is a lot of stress off of my shoulders. All in all, I am so glad I go here and wouldn't want to go to any other high school.

I am an alum of Blanchet and I have nothing but great things to say about the school. High school is high school and you will always run into the issue of cliques...Blanchet is no different. I was so well prepared when I went off to college. I learned many key things about studying that have helped me greatly throughout my college years. I look back on my high school years with nothing but fond memories.

I am a current student at Bishop Blanchet and love going to school there. I honestly wouldn't go anywhere else. Everyday you learn something that you didn't already know. The teachers there are willing to help you succed if you are struggling with the material that you are learning. It's a great learning enviroment and I constently tell my friends that don't go to Blanchet that they should have come here because everyone there is very nice! ~ Sophmore Class of 2007

I went to Blanchet some time ago. I have to agree to a certain extent with a couple of the reviewers. If you did not attend a Catholic grade school ie already have a base of friends attending Blanchet whom you had known for some time, weren't above average in sports or from, at least, an upper middle class family, it was very difficult to fit in socially. One positive was that Blanchet's academic standards served me well in college. I seemed more prepared than a lot of my college classmates for the amount of studying college demanded. However, I always felt that the faculty shoeboxed the students and once you were labeled as an average student, there was little you could do to improve your grades or class rank.

I went to this school and hated it! If you were not wealthy, athletic, or caucasian, forget being recognized for anything. There were more drugs in this school than the public schools of the time. The richer kids could afford it.

I was a student here and did not have a positive experience. If your child does not play sports, do not send them to this school. There is no support for children with learning disabilities as well as the fact that the school is not wheel chair friendly.

I am a student at Blanchet and absolutly love it. It was the best choice I made with out my parents telling me what they wanted. From my experience there, I believe Blanchet it one of the most spirited high schools in Seattle (Washington). The faculty and staff love to get the students involved. Blanchet was the right choice for me!
