Juanita High School Reviews

Owesome school, they have dedicated stuff a great math department and they use a lot of technology to help the learning process. Overall it is a awesome school!

Dedicated staff, diverse and accepting student body, and strong (but young) administrative team that is taking discipline and student safety more seriously than the former Principal. Any student can go to JHS and feel welcome. Lots of clubs and actvities to get involved in, and positive parent/student experiences.

Information on tools available to students/parents to assist students to become more successful is not readily available. Questions must be asked before information is offered, even if the school has identifed a need in your student.

Juanita has become the sparkling star in the LWSD, transforming itself from the school Special Education parents ran away from, into the school that respects parents as the experts on their child, and consulted with on a peer/professional level to design an education the student is capable of -- and exceeding the challenges. Our second time through JHS SpEd was 'Our Success.' The school succeeded in teaching our student through involving our young-adult in planning the education and goals. The Special Education staff worked with the regular-education staff who earned to deliver the education/services to our student. Success breeds success, our student was inspired to learn, and the teachers were rewarded by student success. The school greatly exceeded our expectations. (Ten years ago they were called 'unreasonable expectations.') We would pick Juanita again.

Overall, I enjoyed my time at Juanita High School. (Class of 2003) I enjoyed the range of classes and people as well as the variety of teachers that Juanita had to offer. AP English really prepared me for college and the biotechnology program was wonderful. I was actually able to get a job this year (Freshman in college) as a lab assistant becuase of the skills I learned in the class. The principal was excellent and really cared about the success of her students. The only draw back for me was the German program. But overall I'd recommend Juanita!
