Maximus/Minimus invites you to pig out
Maximus/Minimus is like no lunch truck you've ever seen, unless you've had some fairly strange dreams about lunch trucks.
With the help of industrial designer Colin Reedy, the Maximus/Minimus crew has taken a basic lunch wagon — like the ones you see at construction sites on the noon hour — and transformed it into a giant silver pig. It's got ears, a snout, a tail, and even a giant pair of sunglasses just for good measure.
But as goofy as Maximus/Minimus looks from the outside, the inside the truck is all business ... and that business is making best darn pulled-pork sandwiches you've ever tasted, bar none.
The menu is simple: You get your choice of pork sandwiches, slow-simmered and tender, or vegetarian sandwiches made with onions, barley and other goodies. You get your choice of sauces — spicy-sweet or spicy-hot — and the option of adding Beecher's Flagship cheese.
For drinks, you've got your choice of ginger lemonade or hibiscis nectar. (Hint: They mix well). Add one of two possible side dishes — freshly-made slaw or vegetable chips — and you've got a meal that transcends simple novelty and achieves near-perfection.
There are no seats around the pig; all meals are take-away. That's fine. Eating near the pig could possibly take your mind off the food, and a sandwich this good deserves your fullest attention.
