Description:
Create complex patterns and textures on fabric by combining temporary resists and fiber reactive dyes. In this workshop you will layer color, texture, and imagery on fabric using low-tech methods. Create art cloth by dyeing, over-dyeing, and discharging color, and by using washable resists including soy wax, water-based resists and paste resists from the kitchen pantry. The techniques are easily grasped yet endlessly variable, and should be valuable to both the beginner and the experienced surface designer. Your creations may be used in collage, art quilts, wearables and fiber sculpture. Prerequisite: None
