Located in the center of downtown Seattle, Westlake Center promises some of Seattle's best shopping on three glass-clad stories. Westlake Center features air-conditioned confines that provide a respite for tourists and other shoppers exhausted by summer heat, as well as a central point from which to explore nearby Seattle sights, including Pike Place Market.
Westlake Center's an excellent place to shop for souvenirs of Seattle. It includes a Made in Washington shop as well as Washington State Connections, both of which feature Seattle and Washington State branded goods. The lovely blown glass ornaments filling the windows of Made in Washington are locally produced and make a lovely centerpiece for a Washington-themed gift basket.
Elsewhere throughout the center, upscale shops abound, including a LUSH bath store, Talbot's, Godiva Chocolatier, and Fireworks. The center's located in close proximity to plenty more shopping: go a few blocks up Pine Street to find Pacific Place Center, or seek out the Nordstrom (or Nordstrom Rack) a few blocks in the opposite direction.
Located on the top floor of Westlake Center, a food court supplies cuisines, including Indian, Thai, Mexican, Italian, and Japanese, although a McDonald's at one end stands ready for those who prefer their meals in the shape of a burger and fries. Grab a seat at the southern end to look out over Westlake Plaza and some of the best people-watching in Seattle. Also on the top floor is an entrance to Seattle's monorail, which makes this the southernmost stop on its limited route.
Don't miss the bottom floor of Westlake Center, which includes a Japanese dollar store, , DAISO Japan, along with other specialty shops.
HelloSeattle Tip: You'll find restrooms on the top floor, located on either end of the food court.
