Z Bar Every town needs a Z Bar. It's for drinking at the END of the night. You can feel at home here, but don't look in the mirror in the morning.

Names Well, I must say the connection between the name of the bar and the name of the town is enough to give me that willies. But, when this man is thirsty, nothing will stand in the way of my quenching the thirst. So, I took my chances and got out all right last night. I feel pretty good today and that's a good sign. I may go back to tempt fate one more time. Comfortable place. Maybe it's only time for me to meet my beer-of-choice, rather than my Waterloo.

Three Major Foods I go here all the time. They concentrate on the three main entrees I recognize as essential to the beach life. Once I get through my breakfest malt beverage, I'm open to any of these foods at any time of the day. I live down the street. I've renamed Holland Road the Glory Road.

Demographic Research I can imagine it now. "Uh, Honey, I have an idea where we should put our pizza restaurant. Let's put it at the bus stop for all the hungry riders as they get off the bus." Sounds good to me. I go there. Pizzas and public transportation. There've been worse ideas.

Ah, Madame It's a top-down ride on a backroad in Palomino country. Madame K winks her left eye at you and you feel a little butterfly in your belly, because it's all coming true. That's how Madame K says hello to you when you're a regular. And, you don't forget her when you leave. Say goodbye sweetly to Madame K. Don't break her heart.

Missing Ingredient I half expected the Log Lady from Twin Peaks to show up here. But, she didn't. I was left with a fine establishment worthy of many a return trip. Full of good-looking customers and finely mixed drinks.

Horne's Is a Hoot Great BBQ. And, they'll let you take it out if you need it. "Horne's is a hoot for all the owls," I like to say. BBQ to you. Honk if you're bringing Horne's to the party.

My Kids Love It Anything that has anything to do with Laser shoot-'em-ups in a room with a futuristic/fantasy urban roof scape is tops with my kids. They love this place.

Pro Shop! I love Pro Shops. Reminds me of Albert Brooks routines. I always need to replace something and I go here over any other Pro Shop in town.

My Wife's Favorite My wife loves this place. Reminds her of her southern roots. My roots, on the other hand, are too snarled to be traced. But, I do clean up well, believe it or not. And, I do enjoy this plantation.

Twins I like pairs of things. I try to stop before I see four of them.

The Best I see the best songwriters and up-and-comers here. The music is always top-notch. The food is very good, too. A pleasant evening any evening. The crowd is very respectful. Frequently, stars are in the audience shopping tunes and writers.

More Than Just Country I've seen mainly country acts here, but also some classical acts when the occasion fit. This is the mecca.

Quality Town If the Children's Museum in a town is worth a trip, then the people in town are good folks. This museum is worth a trip.

Great Science Center Our kids love Science Centers. It's a great way for them to have some fun when we're traveling.

Sliders Casey Moore's sounds like the name for an old Hall of Famer's steak house. But, don't be fooled. Best oysters in town. Great beer selection. I recommend something bottled.
