The problem that I am having is that Harris Ford, despite all their claims to the contrary, puts the needs of their business ahead of customer satisfaction. Originally, I was so excited at driving a new Mustang I never really took the time to see if it was good for my budget. What particularly disturbed me was their "forcing" me to buy a $3,100 maintenance contract. Considering that I barely drive 4,000 miles a year, it would ludicrous for anyone to pay that much money to cover oil changes and tire rotations. I wouldn't even wear out the wiper blades or the brake pads until long after the 4-year contract expired. Then they "forced" me to buy a $2,100 extended warranty, for a total of $5,200 that I should have been able to use as a down payment--but they said that if I didn't buy them, they would need that much money to cover the negative equity on my old car, which I should have kept. I would rather have had them tell me "no" on the Mustang, since now the thought of an expensive maintenance contract that I will never need is going to waste, when I could apply that money and bring my costs down, and just pay for the maintenance as I need it. I was also told that it cost $1,200 to take a car back into inventory. This tells me that Harris' overhead is so high they have to pay all those commissions and other lot expenses, which they seem more than willing to pass onto the customer. So be careful if you sign a deal with Harris; they will talk you into these service contracts and maintenance contracts that are 100% front-end profit for them that only raises your payment. In these hard times, that's a bad deal! They will probably hate me for telling you this, but it is all factual and actually happened. The sales manager there even said he would "put his best foot forward, and that if I can't help you get back into a Focus, you shouldn't do business with us." It looks like the winning move at this point is to take that advice and just try to get on with my life.

Pros: Good selection

Cons: They talk you into contracts you don't need
